“But our God is in heaven; he does whatever he pleases.” (Psalm 115:3 NKJV)
“But we know our God rules from the heavens, and he takes delight in all that he does.” (Psalm 115:3 TPT)
“Our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes.” (Psalm 115:3 NLT)
“But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases.” (Psalm 115:3 AMP)
“Our God is in heaven and does whatever He pleases.” (Psalm 115:3 HCSB)
“Our God is in Heaven and he has done all that he pleased.” (Psalm 115:3 ABIPE)
Have you ever been at a place in life where it feels as though God is no where to be found? I have had times where I have cried out in desperation, “Where are you Daddy? Are you really out there?” David had a few Psalms in which he cried out to God. He was not afraid to be “real” with his heavenly Father.” David asked things like, “Why have you forsaken me?”
On the cross, Jesus quoted Psalm 22 which begins with “God, my God! Why would you abandon me now? Why do you remain distant, refusing to answer my tearful cries in the day and my desperate cries for your help in the night? I can’t stop sobbing. Where are you my God?” (Psalm 22:1-2 TPT) Just like David, Jesus was open and honest with with his Father. But it doesn’t stop there. After crying out, David always ended in the place of realizing that God had not abandoned him. He was not distant and separated after all. Later in Psalm 22, prophesying about Jesus, it says, “For he has not despised my cries of deep despair. He’s my first responder to my sufferings, and when I was in pain, he was there all the time and heard the cries of the afflicted.” (Psalm 22:24 TPT)
Psalm 115:3 is showing me that even when those around me question the existence of my God (my Heavenly Abba Father – Daddy) I can be confident that He is always there, and always able to do what do what needs to be done. Nothing, or no one, hinders Him from fulfilling His design or carrying out His desires. He “has done all that he pleased.”
Hebrews 11:6 states, “And it impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” (NLT) David knew this. Jesus knew this. I know this. Do you? My Daddy is seated on His throne. When I recognize who He is, and what pleases Him, then I am living by faith. So what pleases my Daddy? To reward my faith. He gets great pleasure out of blessing me. He loves to shower me with mercy and grace.
So where is my Daddy? In the Kingdom of Heaven.
Where is the Kingdom of Heaven? In me, and all around me.
How do I please my Daddy? By recognizing Him and knowing that He is my rewarder.
What pleases Him? To reward me by giving me the Kingdom.
Wow! I can’t help but get excited about…
