“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.” (Ephesians 3:20 TPT)
“Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm.” (Colossians 3:2 TPT)
“We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One.” (2 Corinthians 10:5 TPT)
There are many today that see people as simply a more evolved species of animal. They fail to see what makes us distinct from the rest of God’s creation. While my brother’s pet dog Biscuit definitely has a “soul” (a mind with emotions and a personality) she is lacking a “spirit” (the eternal element created in the image and likeness of God). Due to this distinction Biscuit lacks a sense of morality (right and wrong) and lives by instinct. She simply lives according to her instincts. I not only have a “soul,” but I also possess a “spirit.” I live by intuition and am able to live by a moral compass knowing right from wrong. There is also another clear distinction between the two of us.
I was created with a creative imagination. While those in the animal kingdom have the ability to adapt, they do not create. They do not create in their imaginations and then produce what they have imagined in the world around them. Biscuit does not spend time imagining a more advanced feeding system, creating it, and marketing it among her peers. She does not imagine ways to improve her living situation or change her world. Creative imagination is left to those of us created in the image of our Creator.
We think in pictures. Language has been created to communicate those pictures to those around us. We have been given the ability to capture our thoughts, create imaginative pictures, and then communicate and create them in the world around us.
For the next few days I want to paint a picture in our minds of what I am calling “The Pathway to Restoration.” Picture it with me as we walk on from…
