“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.” (Ephesians 3:20 TPT)
“Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm.” (Colossians 3:2 TPT)
“We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One.” (2 Corinthians 10:5 TPT)
Now that we have fired up our imaginations by walking down our paths let’s walk again looking more closely.
As we start walking down our side by side paths this time we notice the signs that we had overlooked the first time. On your path there is a sign which reads, “This is the path of Godly Sorrow.” The sign on my path reads, “This is the path of the Goodness of God.” I wonder what they mean?
As we are walking down our paths toward the gate we can’t help but ponder the signs. I wonder why we didn’t notice them the first time we walked the paths? I wonder what they mean? Could they be there for us? With our minds spinning over the content of the signage the walk to the gate seems much shorter this time. Here we are, once again standing at the gate.
Looking above the gate we can clearly read the banner that is draped over the opening. It is written, “This is the Gateway of Repentance.” We can’t help but notice that both paths lead to this same gate. Two distinct paths, yet at the entrance of the gate they merge into one. Once again the gate opens to let us through to the other side. Again, we are faced with the decision of whether to pass through the gate or turn back. We keep moving forward onto the walkway.
This time the writing over the door to the house is big and bold. Definitely easier to read than the first time. It states, “Doorway to Salvation.” As we approach the door opens. This time it didn’t even wait for one of us to knock. It is as if it knew we were coming. Without any hesitation we enter the house while wondering what we are being saved from. Or could it be we are being saved to or for something? Could it be both? Before having time to ponder these questions we find ourselves at the three doors.
As with the paths and the gate, this time we can read the writing. Isn’t it strange how the first time walking this path we either missed the signs or couldn’t read them? I wonder if that has happened to anyone else? On door one is the word, “Spirit.” On the second door, “Soul.” And on the third door appears the word, “Body.” Interesting!
It’s time to leave so we will need to come back tomorrow to investigate what this all means. Until then, ponder…
