“And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables” (Mark 4:11 ESV)
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (Romans 12:2 NLT)
“For as many as are the promises of God, in Christ they are [all answered] “Yes.” So through Him we say our “Amen” to the glory of God.” (2 Corinthians 1:20 AMP).
There is always more that can be said, but the Spirit is leading me to wrap up this discussion of what Mystery doesn’t focus on. Again, the Will of God for any, and every, area of my life is NOT a Mystery. His Word is His Will, and according to His Word all of His promises are yes and Amen (so be it).
I have learned in my life that when His Will seems mysterious and unknown it is usually for one of 3 reasons:
- I have neglected to do my part in seeking His Will. It is tempting to be lazy when it comes to seeking God’s direction. Far too often I have laid back and just waited for the Lord to drop His treasures in my lap with no effort on my part. Then when it doesn’t happen, rather than recognize my lack of effort, it is easier to write it off with, “Oh well, I guess it wasn’t His Will. You know how mysterious God is. You never know what He’s going to do. Sometimes He answers, sometimes He doesn’t.” What about, “keep on seeking and you will find, keep on knocking and the door will be opened?” What about doing my part (prayer, Bible study, etc.)?
- I would rather do my own thing. I think you get this one.
- Claiming that His Will is vague and unknowable removes me from a place of needing to take responsibility. If I convince myself that whatever happens, or doesn’t happen, is His Will, then I no longer need to fight the good fight of faith. I can simply flow with whatever happens in my life regardless whether or not it is actually God’s Will for me.
Taking the mystery out of the Will of God takes away my excuses. Enough said.
Now I sense the time has come to move into what Mystery is all about. Are you ready to enter Faith’s Treasure-House? I am!
It is time to leave…

Good stuff Eric!! I feel the same way a lot of times. Excuses truly do nothing for us, as easy as they are to make. We must let God prevail in all aspects of our lives!
