“Can you search out the deep things of God? Can you find out the limits of the Almighty?” (Job 11:7 NKJV)
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9 NKJV)
“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.” (Proverbs 25:2 NKJV)
…“Who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:16)
“He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32 BSB)
Probably the most important lesson that I have learned when it comes to living by faith in the midst of mystery is that God is hiding things FOR me, not FROM me. He has set up His Kingdom in such a way that His treasures are safely hidden from His enemies and those who are not in His family. However, as His child, it brings Him great pleasure to share those things with me. He unlocks His treasures, and reveals His mysteries to me. He has established the process by which I partake of His treasures, and receive revelation of His mysteries, in such a way that I must leave behind my ways of thinking and acting, and embrace His ways.
Acknowledging that His ways are higher than my ways is an invitation for me to go higher. Recognizing that He is far deeper than I am is my invitation to go deeper. If I am willing to forsake my thoughts, He will begin to reveal His thoughts to me.
As a born again, Spirit filled, disciple of Jesus Christ I have two minds. I have my natural mind which is the main part of what the Bible calls my soul (mind, intellect, and will). I also have a new spiritual mind which operates in my recreated spirit which the Bible calls the mind of Christ. When I was born again I was given a brand new sin free spirit. However, my soul remained darkened by sin and in need of being renewed.
The mind of Christ within my spirit thinks like Jesus and has full access to the hidden treasures of the Kingdom. It understands the high and deep things of God, and comprehends the mysteries. It is my spirit, working in partnership with the Holy Spirit, that uses the Word to renew my mind. James said that through this process the Word is “saving” my soul (my natural mind).
If I want to enter fully into Faith’s Treasure-House, I need to live from my spirit. As the Holy Spirit reveals God’s mysteries to my spirit I am able to use the mind of Christ to change the way that I think and act. The end result is that I think and act like Jesus. When I think and act like Jesus I am able to enter Faith’s Treasure-House and enjoy all that God has prepared for me as His child.
Embracing a life of mystery, with full expectation of receiving revelation knowledge, has been one of the greatest things I have ever done. When I set aside my reasoning, my limited knowledge and understanding, and began to lean on the Lord’s Wisdom, I began to hear, see, and experience new depths of Truth like never before in my life. God’s Ways are now my ways.
There is so much more to say, however the Spirit is prompting me to move into the Land of the Impossible (Faith’s Playground). This is where, for those willing to go there, life really gets fun! Let’s go there tomorrow. Until then, remember…
