“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6 NLT)
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV)
“Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20 NKJV)
“Having looked on them, Jesus says, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27 BSB)
“For with God nothing will be impossible.” (Mark 1:37 NKJV)
As I have mentioned a couple of times before, Faith is spelled R-I-S-K. Most of us like to play it safe. But real Kingdom living begins when we throw care to the wind and go after the impossible.
When the 12 spies returned from the Promised Land, 10 of them recommended that the Israelites play it safe and stay home. Only 2 were risk takers, and emphatically shouted let’s go get it!
When the disciple’s were in the boat, and saw Jesus walking on the water, 11 played it safe and stayed in the boat. Only 1 was a risk taker, and he asked Jesus to call him out. When Jesus did, he jumped out of the boat and on to the water.
When Joshua and Caleb accepted the challenge, and were willing to risk it all in faith and obedience, they were rewarded with the Promised Land flowing with milk and honey. It was a sweet deal!
When Peter accepted the challenge, and was willing to risk his life in faith and obedience to Jesus’ Call, he was rewarded with the thrill of a lifetime. He walked on water! Let that sink in.
Those of us who are disciples of Jesus Christ have been commissioned (a command, not a suggestion or recommendation) to share the Gospel of the Kingdom. The Kingdom Gospel that Jesus lived and shared was from side to side, and top to bottom, a Gospel of impossibilities…
…He told us to make disciples of NATIONS. I haven’t made disciples of an entire nation yet, have you? Impossible!
…He told us to heal the sick. I don’t have the ability to heal, do you? Impossible!
…He told us to raise the dead. I haven’t done this one yet, have you? Impossible!
I could keep going, but for now I think I made my point.
I have shied away from impossible far too many times for far too long. No more! It is time to jump out of the boat and take my Promised Land.
Get ready to blow the top off as together we move forward from…
