“Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, “I have acquired a man from the LORD.” (Genesis 4:1 NKJV)
“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God [which represents all that Jesus Christ is and does], so that you will know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13 AMP)
“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”” (John 8:32 NKJV)
When Jesus’ disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray He gave them instructions. Those instructions are for me today. They outline the Father’s design and desire (His Will) for me here and now (“Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven”). I am to begin with recognition and worship of my “Father in Heaven.” He then directed me to pray that the conditions of His dwelling place (Heaven) would be manifested in my dwelling place (Earth). Jesus’ instructions then outlined practical daily needs (daily bread), and life conditions (forgiveness and temptation), in which Kingdom of Heaven conditions and provision manifested in my life will make a difference. As my life is transformed by the manifestation of Heaven on Earth it demonstrates His glory and power in and through me. At this point you may be asking, “Eric, what does this have to do with your topic?” My answer, “Everything!”
Kingdom of Heaven Manifestation in my life starts with spiritual awareness (“I Know”) of my Heavenly Father’s design and desire for me (His Will for my life). Jesus made it clear that it is the Father’s primary desire for me to experience NOW (“Thy Kingdom Come”) all that His Kingdom has to offer. I was designed to live in the “Garden of Eden” which was a replica of Heaven (the expansion of the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth). I was designed to live the abundant life that Adam forfeited and Jesus reclaimed. It is my Heavenly Father’s desire that I experience the fullness of His goodness and blessing today. What “I know” will determine who “I am”, what “I have”, and what “I expect” in my life. Let’s look at this beginning identifier, “I know.”
“Knowing” in the Bible is far more than intellectual understanding. “Knowing” is an intimate spiritual act of the Holy Spirit in which the seed of revelation knowledge (the Word) is implanted in my spirit, conceived, developed, and birthed into my life.
Adam gave a physical example of this when in obedience to the Word that He received from God He “knew” Eve and she conceived. No one had ever reproduced before. There were no parenting courses or birthing classes. It is obvious that they were given revelation knowledge in order to fulfill God’s design and desire for them to fill the Earth. This illustrates the fact that “knowing” in Scripture relates to the concept of conceiving the Truth and birthing God’s desired results.
Mary, the mother of Jesus, gave a powerful illustration of this concept when she was impregnated by the Holy Spirit. She received the Word, conceived the Truth (Jesus), and birthed the Messiah into this world. He was the complete manifestation of the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. He is the Truth that sets us free.
When the Apostle John wrote about being able to “know” that I have eternal life, the word “know” is “absolute settled knowledge.” It means that I can, “know that I know that I know” the absolute truth. When “I know” this fully who “I am”, and what “I have”, then “I will” begin to experience the full manifestation of the Kingdom of Heaven in my life.
