Quick recap of Psalm 91:1-5:
Verse 1: I am introduced to the One, and the place, of safety and protection (the secret place of the Most High).
Verse 2: I am instructed in what I am to say in order to activate the protection in my life (I will say).
Verse 3: I am promised deliverence from the evil one and his tactics of destruction (deliver you from the snare of the fowler).
Verse 4: I am guided deeper into the method of protection which is the spoken Word (His truth shall be your sheild and buckler).
Verse 5: I am given freedom from all worry and fear (you shall not be afraid).
Now on to verse 6…
In Psalm 91:6 I am given more clarity as to what it is that I do not fear. I especially like the Passion Translation as it says it all, “Don’t fear a thing!” That sentiment is echoed throughout the Bible. It has been said that “fear not” appears in the Bible 365 times. If that is accurate then every day of the year is covered.
When looking at various translations of this verse I find that I have no need to fear “pestilence,” “disease,” “destruction,” “sudden death,” “demonic danger,” “powers of evil,” “disaster,” or “plague.” I think that about covers it all. There is nothing that I am to be afraid of.
As I live in full identification of who I am, and to whom I am connected, I realize that I have nothing to fear. When I understand my true dwelling place, the secret place of the Most High, I see that I am completely safe and secure. As I speak out in faith the truth of my identity, and the revealed truth of who my Daddy is, I activate the protection that I possess. The result is that I begin living from the Kingdom of Heaven in the midst of the Kingdom of Darkness, free from all worry, fear, or dread.
This is getting more exciting with each verse. I am definitely going to meditate on…
