As we already considered together, verses 1 and 2 direct us to begin our journey into Kingdom Living by giving our Daddy the praise and worship that are due Him. After I have taken time to purposely recognize His leadership over my life I am in a position to recognize the benefits (rewards) that He desires for me to experience.
One of the strongest desires, and drives, in my life is to please my Daddy. He said that the only way that I can do that is to live by faith. Without faith it is impossible to please Him. That faith is expressed in two ways. First, I recognize His identity. I see Him for who He is, and am in awe of His essence which is Love. Second, I recognize His nature, and marvel at what He does; which is Good. He is a rewarder by nature. If I fail to remember, and experience, His benefits then I am denying His very nature. If I question His desire to bring those benefits to fruition in my life I am living separated from His essence. He is Love. He is Good. He rewards me with His Kingdom benefits as I seek Him.
Verse 3 gives me Daddy’s first two benefits. I am not going to try to get deep, or theological, today. I am going to simply take this verse at face value (which is supported throughout scripture) and with child-like faith accept that it is my Daddy’s desire and design for me to be forgiven and healed. What I do want to think about is the word “all.” After a deep and wide investigation into that word I have found that the word “all” actually means (are you ready for this?) ‘ALL”.
I have never been challenged when I have told a follower of Jesus that there is forgiveness available to them through the finished work of redemption (death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ). It seems to be universally accepted within the Body of Christ that forgiveness was accomplished by Jesus on the cross. There are those who struggle with believing that this forgiveness could apply to them personally due to their self condemnation, but they still believe that it is a foundational aspect of salvation. However, when I approach people to share with them the good news of healing, I receive a whole lot of rejection.
The same “ALL” that applies to forgiveness applies to healing. Daddy wants me well. He want me to be “whole” in every aspect of my being (spirit, soul, and body). There are no sins or evils that are beyond forgiveness. There are no sicknesses or diseases that are too great to heal.
I had a great discussion with my brother in law yesterday. He reminded me of the fact that it is my job to plant seeds, and water them, not make them grow and produce fruit. It is not my intent to try to convince you today that forgiveness and healing belong to you regardless of your current situation or condition. It is simply my intention to plant the seed and dump some water on it so that you and Daddy can take it from there.
As for me, I am rejoicing today that I do not need to ever again beg my Daddy to forgive me when I sin. I have already been forgiven of every sin (or evil) past, present, and future. In the same way, I have already been healed of every sickness and disease that ever has, or ever will, attack my soul and body. “By Christ’s stripes I am healed!”
I am not going to forget the benefits of forgiveness and healing today. I am thanking Daddy that He is my rewarder as I meditate on…
