In verses 2 – 5, I found that the Lord fills me with His benefits in order to renew my youth. He longs to see me live free from anything that diminishes my ability to enjoy His Kingdom, and expand it throughout the earth. He completely forgives, heals, redeems, and crowns me so that I can be a manifestation of His kingdom in this earth. It is His desire that I have overflowing strength to carry these benefits to a world that is in desperate need of His touch. Verse 6 clues me in to the purpose of verses 1 – 5.
In verse 6, I find the purpose for my experiencing all of these benefits. I am the vessel by which the Lord frees all around me from injustice and oppression. When I began meditating on this verse, Daddy clearly spoke to my heart and let me know that the oppression that He was addressing was the result of the enemy’s efforts to steal, kill, and destroy humanity. That is why the writer of Acts wrote of Jesus, “And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” The Apostle Paul wrote, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” This is why, when Peter spoke against Jesus’ plan, Jesus looked directly at Peter and said, “Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.”
When I live my life with anything less than the full manifestation of the Kingdom benefits that belong to me I am suffering oppression from the enemy. I can only imagine how powerful my testimony will be for the Kingdom when every area of my life is demonstrating the anointing that I carry within. When every area of oppression has been broken off my life, and the benefits flow out of me uninhibited in any way, those around me will be overwhelmed by the goodness of my Daddy. No wonder Paul wrote to the Romans that “the goodness of God leads you to repentance.” I love the way this is explained in the Amplified Bible, “God’s kindness leads you to repentance [that is, to change your inner self, your old way of thinking – seek His purpose for your life].”
My Daddy is the author of overflowing, abundant life in which there is not even a hint of the oppression that the enemy strives to inflict. It is His desire that I live free from anything that limits His Kingdom in my life today. As I meditate on His Goodness, my life begins to be characterized by freedom from injustice and oppression in every area and realm. My spirit soars like the eagle. My soul is free from all limits. My body becomes free from the ravaging effects of sin, sickness, aging, and death as it is enlivened by the Word.
Let’s celebrate our freedom from all injustice and oppression as we ponder…
