Eric’s Life Lesson # 515: Reminder

Posted on July 24, 2026July 24, 2026 by Eric Raby

“For nothing will be impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37 ESV)

“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13 BSB)

“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” (Mark 9:23 NLT)

I sent the following to a loved one a couple of years ago.. As he so often does, Daddy (my  Heavenly Abba-Father / Daddy-Papa) prompted me to post it for someone out there that was ready to start new. I think he wants me to do the same today…

…”Daddy Yahweh has been lovingly confronting some areas of weakness and addiction in my life today. He has been reminding me of who I am and prompting me to once again live out of my true identity as his beloved child (a born again new creation spirit in Christ) and stop living from the addictions and weaknesses of my flesh (unrenewed mind-soul and weakened body in which a remnant of sin dwells).

I have allowed my mind and body to cooperate with the enemy and as a result have  permitted a stronghold of chemical addictions to caffeine, nicotine, and refined sugar to rise up in my body and darken my mind.

In Jesus’ Name, and by the power of his blood and the Word of my testimony, that ends today!

I am entering into a 90-day “Victory March of Freedom.”

I invite you to join me.

You and I are completely free in our spirits. We are one with Jesus. We are loved and accepted by our Daddy! He has given us brand new spirits (our true identity) that are righteous, pure, strong, and free from the power of sin. We are Victor’s, NOT victims!

I am going to work out my salvation (victory from the inside out over everything that is hindering my mind and body) with every bit of strength that I have (partnering with Daddy through Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit). No more excuses. No more putting it off until tomorrow. No more giving in or giving up. No more waiting for it to get easy.

I am fighting the good fight of faith, refusing to become weary in doing well.

For me, that looks like breaking the strongholds of caffeine and refined sugar, resulting in major weight loss, producing increased strength and mobility. It looks like breaking the stronghold of procrastination resulting in  increased daily productivity (exercise, practicing my trombone, and virtual online ministry).

Will you join me?”

If you join me, what will it look like for you?

We can do this!”

I sense in my spirit that there is at least one person out there that like me has been trapped in a cycle of repeated stumbling. You are on the verge of giving up. You feel like you will never win. You are tired, frustrated, and guess it’s time to admit that you just don’t have what it takes and would rather just admit defeat and settle for things as they are.

DON’T DO IT! That is not contentment. That is settling for less than the best and you will regret it. I know. I have been there.

Refresh yourself in Jesus. Encourage yourself in the Lord, get up, start new, and allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with His power, comfort, joy (strength), youth (stamina), and Peace (stability).

The best is right around the corner.

Maybe, like me, that “corner” has been just beyond our grasp for years. The good news is that it is stil there. What you don’t realize is that while these illusive goals and unreached dreams have remained out of your reach you have been inching closer. You are closer than you have ever been before to experiencing the victory that you already possess in Christ. It is right there! It is yours!
