“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.” (2 Corinthians 2:14 NKJV)
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith.” (1 John 5:4 NKJV)
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37 NKJV)
Have you watched any of the “Rocky” movies? They basically heralded the message of opportunity for anyone willing to work harder, get back up one more time, and be ready when an opportunity becomes available. The movies focused on a “nobody” becoming a very significant “somebody.” These were the type of movies that give the “average Joe” hope.
I have battled my emotions most of my life. For a period of time I was on prescription medication and in counseling for diagnosed depression. Praise the Lord, I have been delivered and set free from the grip of both depression and anxiety. With the guidance and blessing of both my doctor and counselor I have been released from all medications. I have been able to walk in daily victory without medication for about 7 years now. However, there are days in which I feel like Rocky after winning one of his famous knock down drag out battles in the ring. At the end of the fight he was the champion, however he didn’t look or feel like it until he had time to recuperate.
I cannot promise anyone no more battles. There is no promise of a pain free life. However, I can stand on God’s Word which promises complete victory. I am fighting a defeated foe. I am fighting “from” victory, not “for” it. I am triumphant in all situations and circumstances. I am an overcomer, more than a conqueror. My power comes from the Holy Spirit through the Gospel which is the power of Gof unto salvation.
