There is so much more that needs to be said about this verse, but I am sensing that Daddy wants me to wrap things up for now. So I am going to try and be as concise as possible in conveying my final thoughts for now.
We already thought about the original commission given to Adam and Eve. Now let’s move ahead to the commission given by Jesus just before He moved to heaven…
“Jesus came and told his disciples, ‘I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:18-19 NLT)
The key word here is “therefore.” Jesus delegated His authority to you and I in order for us to carry on His work making disciples of nations. Sounds a lot like the Father talking to Adam to me. The Father gave the earth, and the responsibility to be in charge, to Adam. Adam gave it to Satan. Jesus, the Son of God in the form of a man, took it back from Satan. Then He gave it back to you and me. Once again I have full delegated authority to rule and subdue as I partner with my Daddy to expand the Kingdom, of Heaven throughout the earth that He gave me.
Whether I look like it or not, feel like it or not, or even desire to do it or not, I have the delegated authority and power to make a positive difference in my life, the lives of those around me, and even the world. So do you! My destiny has been placed in my hands by the hands of the One who rules over all.
