“The dead do not praise the LORD, nor any who go down in silence. But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and forevermore.” (Psalm 115:17-18 NKJV)
“Dead people cannot praise the Lord, but we can! Those who sink to the silence of the grave can no longer give glory to God, but we can! So let’s praise the Lord and let it go on forever. Hallelujah, and praise the Lord!” (Psalm 115:17-18 TPT)
“The dead cannot sing praises to the LORD, for they have gone into the silence of the grave. But we can praise the LORD both now and forever! Praise the LORD!” (Psalm 115:17-18 NLT)
“The dead do not praise the LORD, nor do any who go down into silence; But as for us, we will bless and affectionately and gratefully praise the LORD from this time forth and forever. Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!).” (Psalm 115:17-18 AMP)
“It is not the dead who praise the LORD, nor any of those descending into the silence of death. But we will praise the LORD, both now and forever. Hallelujah!” (Psalm 115:17-18 HCSB)
“The dead will not praise the LORD JEHOVAH, neither any who descend into the darkness. But we will bless LORD JEHOVAH from now and unto eternity!” (Psalm 115:17-18 ABIPE)
As I bring Psalm 115 to a close, I can’t help but notice that the writer ends in a place of worship. This is a reminder to me that the time to praise my father is now, not someday out in eternity. Today is the day of salvation. This is the day the Lord has made. Now is the time to stop and praise the Lord, not the time to be silent.
Let’s not put the Lord on the back burner waiting until some day in the future to give Him our lives. let’s bless the Lord from now and unto eternity.
I will bless and affectionately and gratefully praise the Lord, my Hero, now and forever as I remember…
