Eric’s Life Lesson # 284: Clean Living (Psalm 119:9-16) – Part 3 – Verse 10

Posted on May 26, 2023May 26, 2023 by Eric Raby

“With my whole heart I have sought you; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!” (Psalm 119:10 NKJV)

“I have longed for you with the passion of my heart; don’t let me stray from your directions.” (Psalm 119:10 TPT)

“I have tried hard to find you – don’t let me wander from your commands.” (Psalm 119:10 NLT)

“With all my heart I have sought You, [inquiring of You and longing for You]; do not let me wander from Your commandments [neither through ignorance nor by willful disobedience].” (Psalm 119:10 AMP)

“I have sought You with all of my heart; don’t let me wander from Your commands.” (Psalm 119:10 HCSB)

“With all my heart I have sought you; do not lead me astray from your commandments.” (Psalm 119:10 ABIPE)

it appears that the writer of Psalm 119 was seeking a way to stay clean in the midst of a dirty surroundings. Verse two leads me to the Truth Giver. The passion of my heart needs to be directed toward the One who placed that heart within me.

The way to know the Truth is to passionately seek it. When the focus of my life is on God and His ways then I will begin to walk in purity. Religion tells me to work to be pure and then I will have a shot at knowing God. The Word tells me just the opposite. The way to stay clean in a dirty world is top passionately seek the Giver of Truth and allow Him to make me clean. It is in my relationship with my Father that I receive the ability to live in His ways. He is the One that is able to keep me from veering off the path of His truth.

The beauty of a life lived in relationship with my Daddy (my Heavenly Abba Father) is that he is the one who does all of the heavy lifting. My main responsibility is to submit myself to Him. When I humble myself before Him, He exalts me. When I seek Him, He reveals Himself to me. When I rely on Him, He take care of me. When I seek Him with my whole heart, He give me the power to keep His directives.

I will walk in the guidance of…
