I can remember how frustrating it was as a young child to try to get my mom’s attention when she was talking to someone. To me the world was going to end if she didn’t drop everything and listen to my urgent request. More than once I tried desperately to interrupt whatever she was talking about with absolutely no success. After many attempts I would walk away with no satisfaction. I think we do the same thing with our Heavenly Father.
Have you ever prayed and felt like you were getting a busy signal? Have you ever walked away from your attempt at reaching out to God frustrated feeling like He didn’t respond? I have. But you know what? He did hear me, and He did respond. I just missed it. David knew that when he cried out to the Lord he was heard. He also knew that he was answered even before he saw the answer. That is what we call faith.
I know that I have delayed things many times by turning my back on my Daddy and walking away in frustration because I wanted Him to stop everything and come to my rescue in my time and in my way. I need to remind myself that He is far wiser than I am and that He knows the perfect timing and method for answering my prayer.
Looking back it is amazing how many times I thought my mom wasn’t hearing me when in reality she heard every word that I had said. When she ended her conversation she would move into action on whatever it was that I needed (sometimes what I needed was a reminder of just how rude I was being). My Daddy knows what I need even before I need it. He had already made a way for me before I even came to Him.
Whatever you need today, go ahead and cry out to the Lord. Once you do, rest in knowledge that He heard you and is already in the process of answering. He lives in a place of unlimited resources (His holy mountain) and has already given you everything that He owns to meet every need and fulfill every desire that is in line with His best desire and design for you.
Thank you Daddy for this reminder in…
