“For anyone who hears the word but does not carry it out is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror, and after observing himself goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.” (James 1:23-24 BSB)
“See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know Him.” (1 John 3:1 NLT)
“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” (Ephesians 1:7)
When I look into a natural mirror all I see is the same person I was before I made Jesus the Lord of my life. Even worse is what I see when I look in the mirror of religion. But when I look at myself in the mirror of the Word of God I see a brand new person that looks just like Jesus. The following are a just of the few descriptions of who I am, and what I possess, in Christ (it is how I am seen by my Heavenly Father).
In Christ (the Anointed One and His Anointing) I am…
…forgiven (1 John 1:9)
…redeemed (Romans 3:24)
…set free from the power of sin (Romans 6:22)
…made the very righteousness of God the Father (2 Corinthians 5:21)
…a new creation, a new species that never existed before (2 Corinthians 5:17)
…more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37)
…triumphant in all things (2 Corinthians 2:14)
And I am so much more.!
In Christ (the Anointed One and His Anointing) I have…
…eternal life (the life of God the Father) (John 3:16)
…great and precious promises (2 Peter 1:4)
…abundant life (John 10:10)
…everything needed for this natural life and spiritual life (2 Peter 1:3)
…health and healing (1 Peter 2:24)
…peace that gives me a sound mind and strong heart (Philippians 4:6)
…joy unspeakable and full of glory (1 Peter 1:8)
…unlimited love with no conditions (Ephesians 2:4-5)
…renewed youth (Psalm 103:5)
And I have so much more!
Ponder a few more mind boggling thoughts…
.. I have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16 )
…I have been made as righteous as the Father Himself. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
…My Heavenly Father loves me exactly the same as He loves Jesus. (John 17:22-23)
…The real me (the spirit that can’t be seen with natural eyes) is already seated in Heavenly places in Christ. (Ephesians 2:6)
…I have been given authority over the enemy and all spiritual powers. (Matthew 28:18-20)
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
For years I bought into the religious idea that told me that “I am just a sinner saved by grace.” Today I see myself as my Heavenly Father sees me, which is…
…Eric’s Life Lesson # 11: “I was a sinner, I’ve been saved by Grace, now I am a child of the King! Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb! (perfectly perfect in every way)”
