“Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation – if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.” (1 Peter 2:2-3 ESV)
“Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.” (2 Corinthians 13:11 NLT)
“This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.” (Colossians 1:6 NLT)
The day that I stop growing is the day that I start dieing.
Growth Produces life.
Growth also demands change.
Change is scary.
Change can be hard.
I am finding that with age comes the growing temptation to resist change. It becomes far easier at times to just let things rest as they are, even if they are not as they should be.
I have been created to live a long, strong life worth living. However, that demand that I embrace change. I have to change the way I think and live, and reject the way most people think, live, and act around me. I have to be willing to go against the current and swim upstream. I need to allow God to renew my mind, renew my youth, and quicken (enliven) my body. Put simply, I do not have the luxury of staying the same.
We have been given the ability to slow, and at times even reverse, the process of aging and death. I invite you to join me in a lifelong journey to life. A journey filled with challenges that bring great joy. A journey that will require you to leave the crowds and walk with the few. A journey into the Garden where exists the best that our Father in Heaven has to offer.
Join me as together we learn to live in the fullness of…
