“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” (Matthew 6:34 NLT)
“Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7 BSB)
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6 BSB)
I can cast all of my cares on Jesus because he cares for me. Jesus encouraged me to not think about tomorrow because there are enough concerns for today. When I put those two thoughts that Jesus gave me together, I stop piling up tomorrow’s cares on today’s cares. Then I take today’s cares and I cast them on to Jesus.
Casting is a forceful act. It’s taking the initiative to intentionally grab a hold and throw those things off from me. That’s what it takes sometimes. I can’t be passive when it comes to concerns, anxieties, and cares. I’ve got to take them by the neck, shake them a little bit, and then throw them over to Jesus, because he’s the one that is equipped to handle them.
That’s my encouragement today. Do NOT pile up tomorrow’s cares on today’s cares. Then take today’s cares and cast them (get forceful!) on Jesus!
Just do…
