“Never stop praying” (1 Thessalonians 5:17 NLT)
”So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” (Hebrews 4:16 NLT)
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:24 NKJV)
It is time to complete our 3 point outline for looking at Paul’s prayer. Here is the outline once again…
…Step 1: Probe the prayer under the light of the Holy Spirit.
…Step 2: Personalize the prayer with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
…Step 3: Pray the prayer through the power of the Holy Spirit.
No more probing. It’s time for step 2.
Step 2: Personalize the prayer with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Here is how I believe the Holy Spirit has led me to pray…
…“Dear Father,
I kneel humbly in awe before you today. You are the Father of my Lord Jesus, my saviour. You are the perfect Father of every father and child in heaven and on the earth. That includes me and those I am praying for. We are your children and come to you as our Abba – Daddy.
I pray that you will unveil within me, and within those for whom I am praying, the unlimited riches of your glory and favor until supernatural strength floods our innermost being with your divine might and explosive power.
Help us to constantly use our faith, so that the life of Christ will be released deep inside us, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of our lives.
Empower us to discover and experience the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. Reveal how deeply intimate and far-reaching is his love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Fill us with love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding. Pour this extravagant love into us until we are filled to overflowing with your fullness! We refuse to doubt your mighty power to work in us to accomplish all of this.
I believe you will achieve infinitely more than our greatest requests, most unbelievable dreams, and you will exceed our wildest imaginations! You will outdo them all, for your miraculous power constantly energizes us.
Now we offer up to you Father all the glorious praise that rises from each of us now and forever. We also ask that you would work in our children, grandchildren, and future generations through Jesus Christ.
Amen!”
Step 3: Pray the prayer through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Please join with me as we together come into agreement in praying according to the pattern set before us by Paul. Just as Paul prayed for the Ephesian believers, I am going to pray for you. There is an anointing on this prayer. I encourage you to pray this prayer just as if we were together in person regardless of where you are as you are reading this. I think it would be appropriate for you to extend your hands toward this page signifying the receiving attitude of your heart.
