“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” (Romans 1:16 NJKV)
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:21 NKJV)
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 ESV)
When the Bible prophecies that there will be troubles in this world it isn’t so that we will expect and accept troubles as inevitable, it is to make us aware of conditions that we can change and overcome through the Power of the Gospel.
When the Bible tells us that there will be those who reject and revile us for following Christ it isn’t so that we can label people as our enemy giving us license to speak and act in ways that turn them against us, it is so that we can overcome evil with good, love those who hate us, and see hearts transformed by the Power of the Gospel.
When the Bible reveals things in this earth that fall short of the original desire and design of our Creator it isn’t so that we turn our backs on creation and look for an escape, it is so that we will partner with our Father (the Creator) to restore creation, reconcile humanity, reform society, and bring complete redemption through the Power of the Gospel.
Am I a part of the problem or solution?
