Eric’s Life Lesson # 462: Pathway to Restoration – Part 2

Posted on January 29, 2026January 29, 2026 by Eric Raby

“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.” (Ephesians 3:20 TPT)

“Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm.” (Colossians 3:2 TPT)

“We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One.” (2 Corinthians 10:5 TPT)

Let’s jump right in and put our creative imaginations to use.

Imagine that there are two remote pathways running side by side. You and I decide that we are going to take a walk so each of us picks a path and starts walking down the path in the same direction. After walking for a bit you look ahead and notice an old iron gate with a metal banner running overhead. When you see it you call out, “Hey Eric! Do you see what’s ahead of us?” To which I respond, “I sure do. It’s an old looking gate. Since it’s closed, do you think we should go through it?” Your answer, “You bet we should. I can’t wait to see what’s on the other side.”

As we are walking on the side by side paths toward the gate we notice that the paths are getting closer and closer together until they merge at the gate. As we are standing at the gate you ask me, “Well, which one of us is going to open this thing?” Just then the gate opens on its own. Talk about freaky.

With a glance, we both step forward to go through to the other side. As we pass through the gate we notice that the converging paths came to an end at the gate. Now we find ourselves on a walkway leading up to what appears to be a vacant house. It is in perfect condition so we are not truly positive as to whether or not anyone lives there. Simultaneously we ask each other, “Well, do we keep going?” With less than total confidence we agree that since we have come this far we should keep going. So side by side we move up the walkway to the front porch of the house.

Looking at the house we see the front door. It appears to have something written above it. After a moment’s hesitation you decide to knock on the door just in case there is someone in there. As your hand is about to make contact with the door it opens. Now we are really freaking out. How did both the gate and the door open without anyone in sight? While both of us were fighting instincts to run, we took one look at each other and together stepped through the doorway.

Now we are inside the house we can see three doors which appear to lead into three separate yet connected rooms. Each door has something written on it. In the dim light it is impossible to read what is written. Do we dare get closer? Should we even be in the house to begin with? What is next?

Tomorrow we will take a closer look. Until then allow your imagination to begin to be fired up as you think about…
