“Never stop praying” (1 Thessalonians 5:17 NLT)
”So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” (Hebrews 4:16 NLT)
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:24 NKJV)
We are going to finish our time in Paul’s prayer for the Thessalonians with steps 2 and 3 of our outline…
…Step 2: Personalize the prayer with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Here it is…
Father in Heaven,
I come to you with a heart full of thanksgiving for all those who are joining with me in this blog. They have become my extended spiritual family and I am excited to imagine that each of them is growing as a result of reading and pondering what you are saying through me.
I am believing that each of us praying this will grow in our relationship with you and other believers each and every day. May our love for each other be without selfishness. Help our faith to grow beyond measure as we exercise it continually. The trials of life are making us strong as we look to you for strength, endurance, and deliverance.
As we live through the many injustices of life we are encouraged knowing that you Father will set all things right. You will one day bring justice to all of those who bring injustice into the lives of your children. Those who refuse to embrace the Gospel and reject Jesus will suffer the consequences of their choices.
It is knowing that you are a loving, faithful, and just Father that moves me to pray with expectation knowing you will empower me, and all for whom I am praying, to live worthy of all of the many blessings that you have bestowed upon us. May we experience all of the pleasures of your goodness. As we live in the fullness of your presence may Jesus be glorified in us, and may each of us be glorified in you by your marvelous grace.
I pray this in Jesus Name.
Amen (so be it)
…Step 3: Pray the prayer through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Let’s pray together.
Pray this prayer often. Each time ask the Holy Spirit to repersonalize it and make it effective. Each time you pray it, mix your faith with all that it promises with expectation of great results.
Thank you Holy Spirit for…
