“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” (Romans 8:14 NKJV)
“For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.” (Acts 17:28 NKJV)
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” (Romans 8:18-25 ESV)
I am fully persuaded…
…God is beginning to reveal the “sons of God!”
Through the years I have found that when God is “revealing truth” in a certain area or direction that many who recognize what He is doing will jump on board and move with Him. When this happens many see only those who jump on board rather than God, and label what they see as a “Movement.” Because this “Movement” is in its infancy there tends to be many errors and excesses that occur. There is an inherent immaturity to anything that is young or new. Before long, due to reacting to the immaturity, opposition and infighting is created. Many become distracted, attempting to defend against the opposition. Others fall into error as they stop focusing on the illuminated truth that the Spirit is revealing. Many others leave the “movement” to avoid the controversy and join the “established” group that is fighting against what is being “revealed.” The “Movement” then slows, fades, and lingers struggling tot “grow up.”
Can you imagine what things would look like if the Body of Christ were not divided fighting over “Movements,” and instead learned how to move with God in a spirit of love and unity bringing maturity and wisdom to what God is revealing?
Just imagine if the Reformation, Missions Movement, First and Second Great Awakenings, Restoration Movement, Holiness Movement, Charismatic Movement, Healing Movement, Faith Movement, Grace Movement, and other “Movements” had been recognized and embraced throughout the Body of Christ and brought to full maturity? God could move freely in all of these areas to manifest without limit or end all of the benefits, correcting the errors and excesses as His Body matured in wisdom and stature.
If we would stop fighting over how God is moving, and help one another to grow and mature as we move with Him, perhaps these “Movements” would become permanent growing elements of the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth (here and now).
Today God is moving to bring Romans 8 into full manifestation. He has begun his work of the “revealing of the sons of God.” We can either move with Him and bring this to full maturity or label it a “Movement” and watch it bring limited results and then fade away as we fight amongst ourselves. The choice is ours.
I chose to move with God embracing the challenge of…
