“You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.” (Psalm 23:5 NLT)
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms. For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love He predestined us for adoption as His sons through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the Beloved One.” (Ephesians 1:3-6 BSB)
“Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:1-3 NKJV)
I have been so blessed in life with a Dad who has always treated me with love and kindness. He modeled for me what it means to be a “good father.” He consistently put the needs of the family before his own needs and wants. Looking back, I cannot find a time in which my cup was not running over.
I have a Heavenly Father who is infinitely good. He blesses me in every area of my life beyond measure. I think it is sad that so many see God as the One behind the many calamities that take place in life. Like our insurance companies, when we experience natural disasters, we often call them “acts of God.” They are not “acts of God.” They are acts of an out of control fallen world orchestrated by the one whose sole purpose is to “kill, steal, and destroy.” God is good beyond measure, and only gives good gifts to His children.
I have given my Life to Jesus. That makes me a child of God. I am royalty, and when I take my eyes off from the works of the devil, and onto the works of my Heavenly Father, it is obvious that my cup is running over. What is even better, is that even if I am currently experiencing something negative in my life due to my own choices or actions, I can run to my Heavenly Father and He will take care of me. He goes way beyond meeting my needs. He fulfills the desires of my heart, and abundantly blesses me right in front of the enemy.
That is why I agree with…
…Eric’s Life Lesson # 23: “When your cup is overflowing you don’t have to wonder if it is half empty or half full.”
