“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (Psalm 103:1-5 ESV)
“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.” (Psalm 37:4 NLT)
“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.” (Nahum 1:7 NKJV)
I am barely scratching the surface on each of these Kingdom benefits. I am sure we will spend more time going deeper in the future. For now, I just want to make sure that we realize what we have as members of the Kingdom of Heaven.
We have an inexhaustible supply of forgiveness, healing, redemption, kindness, mercy, and now the satisfying of our desires with good things. It is beyond my ability to fully comprehend just how good my Heavenly Father really is.
When I delight in the Lord He gives me the desires of my heart. To delight in Him is a blessing all in itself. To be given my heart’s desires on top of being allowed to delight in Him is too much to adequately put into words. There are two aspects to being given my desires. First, He puts His desires into my heart. Then He works with me to bring them to pass. The new testament calls this having the “mind of Christ.” I am able to partner with the One who created me to bring His desires for my life, and the lives of those around me, into manifestation. God is a good God and only wants good things for me. He brings those good things into my life through this process of delighting in Him, receiving His desires into my heart, and partnering with Him to produce them in my life. What a benefit!
Do you see why I am so excited about…
