“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32 NKJV)
“I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.” (Mark 11:23 NLT)
“For we live by believing and not by seeing.” (2 Corinthians 5:7 NLT)
In the early 80’s I traveled to Kentucky with my sister Elaine for a business convention for a West Michigan based Network Marketing Organization of which we were distributors. The Keynote Speaker made a statement that has stuck with me all these years. In his motivational speech he said, “The “facts” don’t count!” He then explained that faith and hard work will overcome all obstacles, and change whatever “facts” are standing in the way of my success. What he said was based on “truth”. You see, “Truth” is eternal. It never changes, and given the opportunity it will change the “facts” that oppose it.
Facts are based on “sensory evidence”. They are perceptions based on my current sensory knowledge and subject to change. Far too often I have either changed, or rejected, the truth of scripture in order to try to make it fit into the facts of science or medical knowledge. I have elevated reason, understanding, and human knowledge, over faith, wisdom, and Bible Truth. I have learned that when the two don’t line up it is because my current understanding and perception of the facts are incomplete and inaccurate.
Fact: I am sick Truth: I am healed
Fact: I am broke Truth: I am prosperous
Fact: I am afraid Truth: I am courageous
Fact: I am weak Truth: I am strong
Fact: I am sinful Truth: I am righteous
(Challenge: check these out in scripture and keep going with a list of your own)
It’s time to become so “Heavenly minded” that the “Earthly facts” don’t slow me down. There’s life changing Truth in…
…Eric’s Life Lesson # 140: “It’s a fact, until it’s not.”
It’s time we quite trying to fit God in our box , and jump into his.
