After publishing yesterday’s blog, in which I made available the impartation of joy, youth, and peace, the Spirit impressed upon my heart that someone out there needs to take a step back and receive a more basic gift first. You see, without a relationship with Jesus these other blessings will be very limited in their effectiveness in my life. While what Jesus accomplished for me in His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension, was of great cost to Him, and of infinite value to me, receiving what it made available to me really is as easy as A, B, C. I did this many years ago, and my relationship with Jesus is still vital and growing today.
A – Admit
I started by admitting that I was a sinner in need of salvation. I admitted what I had done wrong and asked for forgiveness.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23 BSB)
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23 BSB)
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9 BSB)
B – Believe
Once I had admitted my need, I believed that Jesus paid for my sins when he died on the cross and rose again. He forgave all that I had done wrong.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 BSB)
“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4 BSB)
“But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 BSB)
C – Commit
Now that I had admitted and believed, I completed this heavenly transaction by committing my life to Jesus. I made Him Lord of my life with the desire to live for Him every day. I chose to let Jesus take charge of my life.
“Then Jesus told His disciples, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.” (Matthew 16:24 BSB)
“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 BSB)
“For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13 BSB)
You can do the same today by praying the following prayer with me.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I admit that I am a sinner. I have done wrong things, do not always do what is right, and definitely come short of your perfection.
I believe that Jesus left heaven, came to earth, lived a sinless life, was crucified for my sin, was buried, and in the third day rose again victorious over sin, death, and the devil.
I commit my life to You Jesus. I make you the Lord of my life. I desire to live for You from this day forward.
Thankyou Father for hearing and answering my prayer. I am now Your Child. I am forgiven and on my way to heaven.
I pray this in Jesus Name.
Amen.
Welcome to the family! I am thrilled that you joined me in…
