“He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:3 NKJV)
“He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of life. He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous.” (Psalm 1:3 TPT)
“They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.” (Psalm 1:3 NLT).
“And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season; its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].” (Psalm 1:3 AMP)
“He is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” (Psalm 1:3 HCSB)
“He will be like a tree planted upon a stream of waters, it gives its fruit in its time, his leaves will not wither; all that he does he accomplishes.” (Psalm 1:3 ABIPE)
This is another verse that simply sounds too good to be true. As I am pondering on this magnificent promise I am tempted to dumb it down to fit my experience. After all, I have had plenty of times when my life has not been full of fruit. I have not yet accomplished everything that I have attempted. I have definitely felt dry, ready to faint, and on the verge of withering on more than one occasion. C’mon Daddy, let’s get real.
Here is what I hear Daddy saying in my spirit…
…”What “reality” do you want? Through David I am giving you a glimpse of My “reality.” It is all available to you. Do you want it? Are you willing to go there with me?”
What can I say but, “Yes Daddy.”
There are so many other scriptures which back up what I am reading in Psalm 1:3. Rather than give them to you I am going to challenge whoever is reading this to get a Bible, ask Daddy to guide you, and dig in to find them yourself. After all, with a promise like this (that is too good to be true) the only way any of us will believe it is to get it directly revealed by our heavenly Father.
Here is what I believe He has revealed to me…
…I am well able to stand firm and never fall for as long as I live.
…I am well able to live a life with no decrease in ability to produce for as long as I live.
…I am well able to remain robust with no diminished strength or ability for as long as I live.
I choose Daddy’s “reality” over mine as I ponder…
